When a 26 year old woman in North Dakota called 911 on February 13, 2009, to report that her boyfriend was assaulting her, the police arrived at the scene and arrested her for breastfeeding her 6 week old baby while she was allegedly drunk.

Since BUI (Breastfeeding Under the Influence) is not often in the press, this case has gained national attention.

ABC sought out a local professional to find out the truth about drinking and breastfeeding.
